Hyderabad, Sept. 19: The Telangana Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine die on Friday after an eight day session.
Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar announced the adjournment after the House completed its scheduled business. The session began on September 7.
The Assembly held short duration discussions on several key issues during the session.
These included lands on the 22A prohibited list, the impact of El Nino and initiatives in education.
The House also discussed the inclusion of BC and OBC enumeration in the Census 2027 exercise.
Telangana Assembly Passes Four Bills
The Assembly passed four Bills during the session, including the Core Urban Region (Integrated Governance) Bill, 2026.
The Bill seeks to provide an integrated governance framework for Telangana’s core urban region. The Assembly also approved changes to the proposed property tax revision cap under the legislation.
The House also discussed the impact of El Nino on Telangana’s agriculture and water resources.
A resolution was adopted seeking support from the Centre to address the effects of El Nino and rainfall deficit conditions.
The 22A prohibited land issue also received significant attention during the session.
The government later announced a three member committee to examine pending cases involving properties on the 22A prohibited list. The committee was given a 30 day timeframe to recommend measures for resolving the cases.
The Assembly also took up the state’s request for BC and OBC inclusion in the second phase questionnaire of Census 2027. The House had earlier adopted a resolution seeking a separate column for BC and OBC data.
With the scheduled business completed, Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar adjourned the Telangana Legislative Assembly sine die on Friday.
