Hyderabad, Sept. 19: A video allegedly showing a policeman beating a woman outside Hafeezpet Railway Station has drawn condemnation.
The video, circulated on social media, shows the uniformed personnel allegedly hitting the woman with a baton. He also allegedly dragged her by her hair.
Locals alleged that the woman had misbehaved and used abusive language before the incident. However, the alleged conduct of the personnel drew criticism.
People demanded an inquiry into the circumstances and appropriate action against the personnel.
RPF Orders Action Against Home Guard
The Railway Protection Force said it conducted an inquiry into the incident. It identified the personnel as a Telangana State Police Home Guard.

The Home Guard was deputed for duty at Hafeezpet Railway Station. The RPF said it repatriated him to the Telangana Police department.
The RPF also said the Telangana Police would take necessary disciplinary action against the Home Guard.
