Hyderabad, Sept 27 (Maxim News): BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao has urged graduates to use their vote carefully in the upcoming Telangana Graduates’ MLC elections.
Addressing party workers at Telangana Bhavan after several Congress leaders from Inugurthi in Mahabubabad joined the BRS, Rama Rao said the elections would provide graduates an opportunity to express their views on the Congress government in Telangana and the BJP-led government at the Centre. His remarks were reported by Telangana Today.
The BRS has already begun preparations for the two Graduates’ MLC constituencies of Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda. The party has also focused on voter enrolment ahead of the elections.
KTR Criticises Congress Government
Rama Rao alleged that the Congress had failed to fulfil its electoral promises after coming to power. He said voters would have to wait until the next election to change the government.
He also claimed that several Congress leaders were leaving the party and joining the BRS. Referring to the recent political developments in Mahabubabad, he said the trend should spread across Telangana.
Rama Rao further referred to surveys that he said indicated growing support for the BRS. He claimed that people were seeking the return of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in 2028.
However, the survey claims were presented by Rama Rao as part of his political argument. A recent survey by Chanakya Strategies, separately reported by Telangana Today, indicated 40.7% preference for the BRS and 37.1% for Congress among respondents, although such surveys represent measurements at a particular time and are not election results.
Rama Rao also criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over issues including power supply and fertiliser availability. He sarcastically alleged that the government had brought back problems associated with earlier periods.
He further claimed that KCR continued to receive public support during the recent Ganesh festivities across Telangana.
Rama Rao urged party workers to focus on the upcoming Graduates’ MLC elections and voter enrolment. The BRS has also sought clarification from the Chief Electoral Officer over the schedule for preparing fresh electoral rolls for the two constituencies.
