Hyderabad Hotel Murder: Woman Found Dead, Lover Missing

Hyderabad: A 34-year-old bank customer-care executive was found dead inside a hotel room in Hyderabad’s SR Nagar after allegedly checking in with her partner using different names and identity documents.

Police identified the deceased as B Sirisha, a native of Nagasamudram in Vikarabad district. She had checked into Gokul Pride Hotel on September 24 with A Srinivas, 38, police said.

According to police, Srinivas had been staying at the hotel since September 9, while Sirisha joined him on September 24. The two allegedly used false Aadhaar cards while checking in. Srinivas reportedly registered under the name Ganesh, while Sirisha was recorded as Durga.

Police said Srinivas left the hotel at around 3:30 am on Tuesday. He allegedly told reception staff that Sirisha would have breakfast and leave later.

When she did not respond to repeated calls and doorbells, hotel staff alerted the police. Officers reached the room and opened it using a spare key. Sirisha was found dead on the bed.

Jubilee Hills DCP A Ramana Reddy said police suspect that the two had an argument during the night and that Srinivas attacked Sirisha with a blunt object. A case was registered against him under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for murder.

A Clues Team examined the room and collected forensic evidence. Police have also secured CCTV footage from the hotel to reconstruct the events leading to Sirisha’s death.

Special teams have been deployed to trace Srinivas. Police are checking his native village, bus stations and railway stations as part of the search.

Investigators are also examining injuries found on Sirisha’s body. Some reports citing police sources said a curtain rod may have been used in the assault. However, the final forensic examination will determine the cause and manner of death.

Police are separately examining discrepancies in the woman’s identity. An identity document reportedly carried the name Durga, while records from earlier treatment at a private hospital identified her as Sirisha.

Investigators are also looking into reports that Sirisha had previously received treatment following an alleged assault by her husband. Police are examining whether that history has any connection with the present case, but no such link has been established so far.

The investigation remains focused on the hotel records, CCTV footage, forensic evidence and the circumstances surrounding Srinivas’s disappearance.
