Hyderabad, Oct 2 (Maxim News): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Bapu Ghat in Langer Houz on Friday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
The Governor and Chief Minister offered floral tributes at the Mahatma Gandhi memorial and participated in an all-faith prayer meeting. Bapu Ghat is located at the confluence of the Musi and Esi rivers, where Gandhi’s ashes were immersed in 1948.
The leaders later inaugurated a digital museum set up at Bapu Ghat. The museum was opened as part of the Gandhi Jayanti commemorations at the historic memorial.
Bapu Ghat Hosts Gandhi Jayanti Programme
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud attended the programme along with Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and Mohammed Azharuddin.
Government Advisor V. Hanumantha Rao, Government Whips Addanki Dayakar and Ramachandra Naik, MLAs and other public representatives also participated in the event.
Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, DGP C.V. Anand and senior government officials were among those present.
The programme included special prayers at Bapu Ghat, with leaders recalling Gandhi’s ideals of peace, non-violence and service to humanity.
The Gandhi Jayanti event brought together senior state leaders and officials at the memorial as Telangana observed the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. (Maxim News)
