Hyderabad, Oct. 2 (Maxim News): A wedding in Hyderabad’s Old City was thrown into uncertainty after the prospective groom allegedly went missing just hours before his marriage, leaving both families distressed.
Khalil, from the Kalapathar police station limits, was scheduled to marry a young woman from Balapur. The families had discussed the alliance, fixed the wedding date, distributed invitations and booked a function hall.
Police Search for Missing Groom
The bride’s family had already spent a significant amount on the wedding preparations. Relatives said the bride was deeply distressed after learning that the groom had disappeared shortly before the ceremony.
According to the family, the woman allegedly attempted to take her own life. Relatives intervened and later approached the police.
Police registered a case based on the complaint and began efforts to trace Khalil. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance and his whereabouts remain under investigation.
Family members also claimed that Khalil already knew the woman who allegedly left with him. They suspect the two had planned to leave together before the wedding.
The woman was also reported to have two children. Her family has also said that she could not be located after Khalil’s disappearance.
Police are expected to establish whether Khalil and the woman left together and determine the circumstances behind their disappearance. Until they are traced and their statements are recorded, the reasons for their actions remain unclear.
The incident has caused concern among the two families, with the wedding preparations disrupted just hours before the scheduled ceremony. (Maxim News)
