RGIA Gold Seizure | Hyderabad, Oct. 5: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials seized around 800 grams of gold at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad on Monday.
The seized gold was valued at approximately Rs 1.20 crore, according to officials. The operation followed a tip off about suspected gold smuggling at the airport.
A passenger arriving on an IndiGo flight from Tiruchirappalli was detained after officials found gold ornaments in his luggage. The passenger was identified as a Hyderabad based jeweller.

Customs officials initially detected the gold during a routine inspection. The passenger was subsequently handed over to DRI officials for further questioning.
DRI officials registered a case and began investigating the source and intended destination of the gold. Further details are awaited as the inquiry continues.
