CJP Protest | New Delhi, Oct. 11: The Supreme Court has urged the Centre and Delhi Police to restore normal public life in the capital amid restrictions linked to the CJP protests.
According to the report, a bench comprising Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V. Mohan held an urgent hearing on Sunday. It called for steps to restore internet services, resume metro operations and remove barricades where restrictions were unnecessary.
The court stressed that authorities should avoid indiscriminate checks and impose restrictions only when genuine threats to public order and security arise.

Delhi witnessed heightened security on Saturday after the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) called for a protest. Police erected barricades at several locations, including Jantar Mantar, where the demonstration was planned.

The report said more than 50 metro stations had been closed or affected by restrictions. Internet services were also reportedly suspended, disrupting normal activities across parts of the capital.
The Supreme Court issued notices to Delhi Police, the Union Home Secretary and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, seeking steps to address the situation.
Separately, a magistrate court ordered the release of key CJP leaders, including founder Abhijeet Deepke, according to the report.
