Bank Holiday Today | Hyderabad, Oct 26: Banks will remain closed for physical operations today, Monday, October 26, in Tripura, Chandigarh, Jammu, Srinagar and Himachal Pradesh.
The closures are for Laxmi Puja, Accession Day and Maharishi Valmiki’s birthday, as applicable in each place, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list.
Banks in other states, including Telangana, are not listed as closed today. Customers in the affected areas can still use online banking, mobile apps and Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for most routine transactions.

Money transfers, bill payments and account management can be done instantly through digital channels on holidays, the report says.
Under the standard calendar, all scheduled and non-scheduled banks observe the second and fourth Saturdays as holidays. The first, third and, in some cases, fifth Saturdays are working days unless the RBI calendar says otherwise.
The RBI’s October 2026 list also includes Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, Mahalaya Amavasya, Maha Saptami, the Dussehra and Durga Puja days, Karva Chauth and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birthday. Dates and states vary by holiday.
