Speaking to reporters, Rajender said the dumping yard had severely affected the lives of lakhs of people in the Malkajgiri constituency. He alleged that excessive garbage had polluted groundwater within a 30-kilometre radius of the site.

The MP also criticised the government, stating that his repeated meetings with the Chief Minister had not produced any results. He said the Maha Padayatra was intended to bring the issue back to the government’s attention and press for action.
The four-day march will conclude with a public meeting at Jawahar Nagar, where the demand for relocating the dumping yard is expected to remain the central issue.
