Hyderabad Rice Prices | Hyderabad, Nov. 1: The Hyderabad district administration has fixed maximum retail prices for three rice varieties. The move aims to provide relief to consumers facing rising rice prices.
The decision seeks to improve transparency in rice sales and prevent traders from charging excessive prices.
Officials finalised the rates after discussions with Civil Supplies Department representatives, rice millers and wholesale traders.
The fixed prices apply to rice sold in 26 kg bag packs. The maximum retail prices per kilogram are:
- BPT / KNM: Rs. 66
- RNR / Telangana Sona: Rs. 74
- HMT / JSR: Rs. 79
Hyderabad Rice Prices | Shops Must Display Rice Price Banners
Officials have designed special banners to inform consumers about the fixed prices. Rice mills, wholesale outlets and retail shops across Hyderabad district must display them.
The banners should be installed in places clearly visible to customers. Traders must also enter their establishment’s name in the space provided.

The District Civil Supplies Department will monitor compliance at the field level.
Officials warned that selling rice above the prescribed maximum prices would invite action under relevant laws and regulations.
The Hyderabad District Chief Rationing Officer urged rice millers, wholesalers and retailers to cooperate with the decision.
He asked traders to follow the fixed prices and supply quality rice to consumers.
The administration’s move aims to regulate rice sales through price transparency and consumer awareness.
However, effective implementation will depend on regular inspections and monitoring. Authorities must ensure that shops display the banners and follow the prescribed rates.
