Kaleshwaram Sets New Record In Concrete Use
The pouring of concrete totalling 20,447 cubic metres in one day in the Kaleshwaram project system is not just one for the record books in the country but also puts this complex irrigation project in the top three single day concrete users in the world.
The record for single day’s pouring of concrete lies with China, which in 2000, managed a peak concrete placing intensity of 22,000 cubic metres during the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, according to a paper presented at the 29th Conference in 2004 on ‘Our World in Concrete & Structures’ at Singapore.
