Involve Women In Growth Process: Venkaiah
Hyderabad, April 19 (Maxim News): Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu stressed need for involving women in development process.
He was participating as the chief guest at a program at MCRHRD conducted by Vodafone India and Learning Links Foundation on women empowerment here. The two companies have conducted the program to mark the completion of one year training on financial literacy and empowerment to the selected women. The aim of these companies is to see that about 13 millions of women should be trained by 2020.
Speaking on the occasion, the vice president appreciated the companies for their collective efforts to empower and educate women for development. Venkaiah Naidu said that the women empowerment is key for development. The women have to be involved in the process of development besides giving them scope for financial empowerment and educating them with technological inputs, he said. Venkaiah said that self help groups will help the women empower financially. The Vice President has said that India is fast developing and emerging as third biggest economy in the world. It is important for nation for development as well as financial literacy and empowerment. He stressed the need for giving training and skills to the women to stand on their own feat. Imparting professional skills is the first step to provide the women get equal opportunities he opined. (Maxim News)
