Hyderabad, June 27 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today laid foundation stone for a new Secretariat building complex with “vastu” norms in the existing premises at D block, He also laid foundation stone for a new Assembly building complex at Erram Manzil that would cost Rs 100 crore. The Chief Minister performed pujas and broke pumpkin and coconuts to mark the occasion. He plans to build a big Secretariat in about 6.5 lakh sq ft area.
TRS working president K T Rama Rao, former minister T Harish Rao, Rajya Sabha member K Keshav Rao, Home Minister Mahmood Ali , ministers Prashant Reddy, Srinivas Goud, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Indrakaran Reddy, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, Chief Secretary S K Joshi and a large number of officials were present on the occasion.
When the BJP leaders tried to protest against the Chief Minister’s plan to build a new Secretariat, the police intervened and took them into custody. The new Secretariat will provide space to the existing departments, District Collectors conference hall, meeting halls for mandal level officials and others.
It may be mentioned here that Chief Minister KCR last visited the Secretariat in July 2017 and confined to Pragathi Bhavan ever since. He directed the officials to build the new Secretariat in nine months. The new Secretariat premises will to come up in 6.5 lakh sq ft area by demolishing all the 10 structures. As KCR has strong belief in Astrology and Vasthu, he ignored Opposition criticism of wasting public money.
The Chief Minister will take a call on one among two designs provided by the Chennai-based Aaskar Ponni, Architect that was shown during a press conference while other was given by Mumbai-based Hafeez, a noted contractor. The officials will be shifting to the nearby BRKR Buildings and other places.(Maxim News)
