Jeevan Advises Vinod Not To Act Like TRS Leader

Hyderabad, Aug.29 (Maxim News): Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy on Thursday urged the newly appointed vice-chairman of Telangana State Planning Commission B. Vinod Kumar to focus on the interests of the State.

Addressing mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan here today, Jeevan Reddy objected to the statement of Vinod Kumar that the tour of Congress leaders to the Tummidihatti project was improper and misleading the people. He also said the statement of Vinod Kumar that the State government had urged the Centre to grant national project status to Kaleswaram was not correct.

Stating that the Union Water Resources Minister has made it clear that the Telangana government never urged the Centre for national status to the Kaleswaram project, while replying to a question in Parliament . He dared the TRS leader to move a privilege motion against the Union minister if his statement was wrong. He asked the State government for how many days it would mislead the people in the State. He made it clear that it was a fact that the State government never handed over DPR of the Kaleswaram project to the Union government. He alleged that the ruling party leaders were scared of being exposed before the Union government on the issue of commissions in the project if it handed over the DPRs.

The Congress leader said water could be taken till Mylaram if a barrage was built at Tummidihatti through gravity. He ridiculed that the Kaleswaram project turned into a tourist spot instead of an irrigation project. He demanded that the IAS officers, who are visiting the Kaleswaram project to visit the Tummidihatti to tell the truth about irrigation projects in the State. (Maxim News)
