SCCL Chief Wants Two Lakh Tons Of Coal Produced Everyday

Hyderabad, Nov.2 (Maxim News): Singareni Collieries Company Ltd Chairman & Managing Director N. Sridhar passed orders to achieve two lakh tons of coal production and transport from this month. There was a hindrance in coal production and despatch due to the unprecedented rains up to last month, he said.

On Friday, Sridhar held a monthly review meeting at Singareni Bhavan here with all Directors and area General Managers. He said unlike last year, due to continuous heavy rains up to October, production from OC mines has come down and since there was no chance of rains from November, the deficit in production and transport has to be fulfilled along with the monthly targets.

He said efforts should be made with specific plans and strategies to achieve two lakh tons of coal production and despatch per day. At the same time, proper care should be taken for safety. He also instructed that coal production be started at the earliest in the new open cast mines. He also reviewed the work in progress at Naini block at Odissa which Singareni had taken up. He instructed that along with the Naini block, work relating to the new Patrapadha block has to be completed in a planned and phased manner.
