Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao has responded to actress Meera Chopra’s complaint that she was abused and threatened of gang rape and acid attacks.
In a tweet on Friday, the minister said he had requested the Telangana DGP and the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner to take stern action as per law based on her complaint.

Chopra, apart from her tweets earlier this week, had tweeted on Friday, tagging Rao and former Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha as well, stating that the Hyderabad City Police had filed an FIR in the case and that she was hoping that this would be ‘investigated thoroughly’ for the sake of safety of women.
Chopra was subjected to a brutal episode of cyber bullying on Twitter by persons claiming to be fans of Telugu actor Jr. NTR, after she said in an interaction with her fans that she had not worked with him and was not his fan. Many of the Twitter handles that heaped abuse and threats on the actress however disappeared once the police came onto the scene.
The Hyderabad Cybercrime wing has already registered a case in connection with the incident.
