Farmers Should Use Organic Chemicals: Niranjan Reddy
Hyderabad, Sept.8 (Maxim News): Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy today underscored the need for using organic chemicals to increase production.
He participated in a program related to using organic chemicals.
The minister released Siri City compost organic chemicals of state agro industries into the market. On the occasion he said that organic chemicals are available in 600 agro centres. Increase their number and see that the farmers use organic chemicals to boost agriculture production.
He said that there is increase in demand for fertilisers from 8.5 lakh metric tons to 10.5 lakh metric tons in the state. This is not good for farmers as mire use of the fertilisers will cause loss to crops and soil.
The minister asked farmers to use Organic chemicals instead of fertilisers as that will harm crops and soil.
Niranjan Reddy directed that officials conduct awareness programs in districts in this regard.Prepare a list of people using organic chemicals and fertilisers and encourage them for the former the minister said.
He said that soil tests will be conducted twice a year, necessary advises are to be offered. He also said that soil health cards to be offered to the farmers in the state. (Maxim News)
