Hyderabad: Man Sentenced Life Imprisonment for Kidnap and Murder
Hyderabad: A fast-track court for rape and POCSO Act cases on Tuesday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for kidnap, unnatural sex and the murder of a minor boy at Balapur in 2019. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 7,000 on him.
The convict, Omer Bin Hassan (25), a construction worker from Jalpally in Balapur, found the nine-year-old boy walking alone on the road late in the night and kidnapped him after luring him with chocolates. Hassan then took the child to a secluded place and sodomized him. When the child resisted his attempt and started shouting, he became furious and in a fit of rage caught hold of the child and bashed his head on the ground, killing him on the spot. He then fled when the locals tried to catch him.
The Balapur police booked a case and arrested Hassan. Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat took initiation in conducting a speedy trial of the case and personally supervised the court matter. Bhagwat and Additional Commissioner G Sudheer Babu appreciated the efforts of the investigation officer and team and announced rewards for them.
