Rs 3.75 cr for Tissue Culture Lab: Niranjan Reddy

Hyderabad, Oct.13 (Maxim News): Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy today stated that plants would be cultivated and distributed among the farmers for green expansion and control pollution.

Along with Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy and officials concerned, Niranjan Reddy has laid a foundation stone for a “Tissue Culture Lab” first of its kind in the country at Jeedimetla area in Kutbullapur in the city here. The project cost was estimated at Rs 3.75 cr and would cater to future needs of farmers and horticulture.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister asserted that more plants will be produced from this lab. It was estimated to cost around Rs 3.75 cr for this new Tissue Culture Lab to come up in the city. This will boost the new plants of various varieties and give them to state farmers, he said. On huge production of a variety of the plants we would also export to other states, the minister claimed.

The new tissue culture lab in Telangana is first of its kind in the country, the Minister said. It would produce a wide variety of plants such as – fruits, flowers, fragrance, medicinal, forest, shade, decoration among others. With this we would supply a huge number of plants to the Haritha Haram program of the state government, he said. (Maxim News)
