G. Kishan Reddy slams CM KCR

Hyderabad, Nov.9 (Maxim News): Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy today responded to the comments made by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao against him and the Central government. He made it clear that no BJP worker would be scared of the Chief Minister.

Addressing media persons in National capital New Delhi, Kishan Reddy made it clear to the CM that the center would not fear CM KCR if he held dharnas in the National capital demanding the procurement of the paddy. He said that they would explain about the steps initiated by the central government for paddy procurement from them. He said that the center had procured 65 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from the farmers of Telangana in the year 2014.

He also said that the center had procured 151 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from the two Telugu speaking states in the year 2021 and added that 94 lakh metric tonnes of the paddy was procured by the center from Telangana during 2019-20 financial year. He said that while the center had spent Rs.3400 crore for the procurement of the paddy in the year 2014, it had spent Rs.26646 crore in the year 2021.

He alleged that the ruling TRs party had carried out a false campaign during the election campaign in Huzurabad by-polls. Reddy said that the central government was paying all charges like milling charges, bags and transportation charges for the procurement of the paddy.

Speaking further, Kishan Reddy said that the state government had written a letter to the central government and informed it that it was changing the material of the millers while urging it to procure 20 lakh metric tonnes of the paddy in the current year. He claimed that the state government had written a letter to the center stating that it would not send coarse variety of the rice from Telangana. Commenting on the reduction in petrol and diesel prices, Reddy said that they had reduced the excise duty on the two essential commodities due to the increase in their GST income. (Maxim News)
