High Court hears case on Podu lands

Hyderabad, Nov.9 (Maxim News): The Telangana High Court today heard a case related to cultivation of Podu lands. The case was filed by 73 farmers urging the High Court to issue orders to the state government to issue land pattas to them for the cultivation of the podu lands.

They also urged the HC to issue orders to the state government for not forcefully evicting the farmers cultivating the Podu lands. The counsel for the petitioners T. Ram Prasad argued the case on their behalf before the HC. The principal secretaries of forest department and tribal welfare department have been made respondents in the case by the petitioners.

A bench headed by the chief justice of the state Justice Satish Chandra Sharma heard the case and asked the state government to file its counter in the next ten days before adjourning the case. (Maxim News)
