India reports 20,557 COVID-19 cases, 40 fatalities

New Delhi, July 20: According to the Union Health Ministry, India experienced a significant increase in daily Covid cases, with 20,557 new infections reported in the prior 24 hours compared to 15,528 the day before. The death toll increased by 40 during this time to 5,25,825.

The active caseload, which represents 0.33 percent of all positive cases in the nation, has risen slightly to 1,45,654 cases.

The total number of patients who have recovered in the last 24 hours is 18,517, bringing the total to 4,31,32,140. As a result, the recovery rate is currently 98.47 percent.

The Weekly Positivity Rate is currently at 4.64 percent, while the Daily Positivity Rate has increased to 4.13 percent. Additionally, during that time 4,98,034 tests were carried out nationwide, bringing the total to nearly 87.06 crores.

By using 2,64,58,875 sessions as of Wednesday morning, the Covid-19 immunization coverage had surpassed 200.61 crores. Since the start of the vaccination campaign for this age group, the Covid-19 vaccine has been given to around 3.81 crore adolescents as a first dose.
