Student bodies hold protest program before minister Sabita’s office

Hyderabad, July 20 (Maxim News): The activists of the student organisations affiliated to the left parties of the state today held a sit-in protest program in front of the office of the State Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion, they demanded the state government to provide text books and uniforms to the students of the state immediately. They also demanded the state government to stop the implementation of the new National Education Policy (NEP) -2020. They further demanded the state government to immediately release the pending amounts of scholarships and fee reimbursement scheme besides demanding the release of the pending midday meal scheme funds. They also demanded the state government to provide free bus passes to the students of the state. They asked the state government to introduce a law to regulate fee in private and corporate educational institutions.

They demanded the state government to fill up vacant posts of teachers and lecturers. The police reached the spot and apprehended the activists.

The activists of AISF, PDSU, SFI and AIDSO took part in the agitation program . These organisations also held a state wide educational institutions bandh program today . (Maxim News)
