No God asked to fight for religion: KTR

Hyderabad, Aug.27 (NSS): Minister for Industries and IT KT Rama Rao said no God had asked the people to fight one another for the religion.

Expressing concern over the recent communal protests in the old city following BJP MLA Raja Singh’s derogatory remarks against the Prophet Mohammad, Minister KTR said that no religion called for fighting in its name and it was meaningless to squabble as to whose God was greater and whose not.

The people are still experiencing the shortage of food and drinking water in the country. The society is plagued with several issues. Unfortunately, some people are indulging in petty fights in the name of religion instead of focusing on what they need urgently, KTR lamented.

Addressing the meeting after releasing the competitive examinations study material prepared by Dr. B R Ambedkar Open University here on Saturday, the Minister said the Telangana has been progressing in all sectors since the formation of the State and it had become a role model for other States in various sectors.

He alleged that attempts were being made by certain political elements to create communal clashes among the people and to divert the attention from the path of development.

The Minister said there were real issues like rising prices of gas, petrol and diesel and instead of asking about them, the issue was diverted with debates on Halaal, Hijab and Munawar Faruqui.

Stating that once Sircilla Rajanna district was named as the most backward area in Telangana, KTR said that with the construction of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation project and revival of village tanks under the Mission Kakatiya programme, the face of district has changed completely and water   availability has improved drastically. With this, the crop cultivation has been extended across the district and it has become a case study in the water management for the trainee IAS officers, he said. (NSS)
