Raja Singh’s wife meets Guv; pleads for release of her husband
Hyderabad, Sept.18 (NSS): The wife of the detained BJP MLA T Raja Singh today met with Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and urged her to intervene in the issue of the arrest of her husband under the PD Act by police.
T. Usha Bai was accompanied by her sisters during her meeting with the Governor. She submitted a representation to the Governor stating that police had illegally arrested her husband and added that her husband was arrested by the police several times in the past. She urged the Governor to take steps for quashing the PD Act invoked against her husband by the police.
It may be mentioned here that MLA Raja Singh was arrested by the police following the release of a video by Raja Singh on his YouTube channel making insulting remarks against the Prophet of Islam. The insulting remarks by Raja Singh had caused a nationwide uproar and resulted in his suspension from his party. He was also removed from the post of BJLP leader in the Assembly. (NSS)
