Munugode bypoll result proves BJP alone is only alternative to TRS: Tarun Chug

Hyderabad, Nov.7 (NSS): Tarun Chug, BJP national general secretary, Telangana State Incharge here today said the result of the Munugodu byelection proved a moral victory for the BJP. Despite fielding 16 ministers and over 80 MLAs for over a month, despite closely monitoring it from the CMO directly, in spite of massive and unprecedented misuse of official machinery, the TRS couldn’t stop the phenomenal rise of the BJP in Munugodu. The results showed that BJP and BJP alone is the only alternative to the TRS in the State, he added. The victory of the TR is just formal, while the BJP victory is moral, he said, adding that from securing mere 12,000 votes in 2018, the BJP got over 86,000 votes in 2022, which clearly shows the direction towards which the people of the State are looking. Further, the decimation of the Congress party, which lost its deposit in a seat it won in 2018, underscores that the BJP is the only alternative to the TRS in the State.

“The Munugodu byelection proved a moral booster to the BJP in the State and the workers of the BJP are in a celebratory mood for the kind of votes that it got in an area where it was traditionally perceived to be weak. The euphoria that TRS is trying to generate over its purely technical victory would not last long, for they know clearly that the ground is swiftly slipping”, he added.

Chug said “the Chief Minister knows very clearly even after deploying the entire government there, even after surrendering to the Communist parties, he failed to secure even a reasonable majority.
I thank the people of Munugodu for showing the TRS its place. I thank the people of Munugodu for puncturing the pride of the TRS and cutting it to size.

I thank the people of Munugodu for supporting the BJP undeterred by the muscle power, and intimidation of the ruling party. I appeal to the workers of the BJP to sustain this momentum for a year till 2023 to redeem the people of Telangana from the clutches of family rule and to pave for a Telangana that martyrs aspired.
