Telangana Govt Got Huge Aamdani Of Rs. 34 Thousand Crores From Liquor Sale This Year

Hyderabad, Dec 30 (Maxim News): Telangana government headed by Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao got a huge aamdani (revenue) from the sale of liquor to the tune of Rs. 34 thousand crores. in a year from January 1 to December 30, 2022.

According to the report, Ranga Reddy district is at the top in alcohol sales, Hyderabad is in second place and Nalgonda district is in third place. Liquor revenue has become a major source of revenue for the state exchequer. As a result, alcohol sales are breaking records every year. In 2014, the income from the sale of liquor in the new state of Telangana was negligible. Since then the income from liquor has increased four times. In 2014.15 it was Rs. 10.88 thousand crores, In 2018-19 it increased to Rs. 20.85 thousand crores. It has doubled in five years. In 2020-21, Liquor income reached Rs. 27.28 thousand crores, this year it has reached Rs. 34 thousand crores.

The average revenue per month in 2021-22 is Rs. 2,500 crores has now gone to Rs. 3,000 crores per month. Last year from April 1 to December 24, liquor worth Rs. 21,763 crores was supplied. This includes 2.65 crore cases of Indian Mode Liquor (IML) and 2.36 crore cases of beer. This year, from April 1 to December 24, the liquor supply was Rs. 25,147 crores, including 2.52 crore cases of IML and 3.48 crore cases of beer. Compared to last year, 12 lakh cases of beer have been sold this time. (Maxim News)
