MLAs Purchase Case: Hearing On Govt Writ Appeal Adjourned To Jan 9

Hyderabad, Jan 6 (Maxim News): A division bench of the High Court of Telangana headed by Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan has adjourned the hearing on the writ appeal filed by the State government against the judgment of the single-judge bench in the Moinabad Farmhouse MLAs purchasing a case to Jan 9.

Advocate on behalf of the BJP Damodar Reddy made arguments. It was submitted to the bench that BJP has not brought down any state government and has not bought MLAs from any party. Damodar Reddy brought to the attention of the Court that Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao had made a public announcement that MLAs from other parties should join the BRS. He said that 37 MLAs joined BRS from 2014 to 2018.

Responding to Damodar Reddy’s arguments, the judge questioned why BJP and BRS were actually mentioned in the farmhouse case. The Judge said that BJP’s petition was dismissed by the single judge bench, then why are you making arguments on behalf of the BJP? Damodar Reddy said that they have come because of SIT lawyer Dushyant Dave’s arguments which would harm the reputation of his party. He clarified that he mentioned politics only to answer SITs arguments.

After hearing the arguments of both sides, the court adjourned the hearing of the case to Money, January 9 (Maxim News)
