Azmath Jah Declared Ad IX Head Of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty
Hyderabad, Jan 21 (Maxim News): Mir Mohammed Azmath Ali Khan (Azmat Jah) has been declared as the IX head of the Asaf Jahi Dynasty in the existence for 299 years in a simple ceremony with prayers to be held at 8.30 pm at the Coronation Hall of the Chowmahalla Palace.
After the demise of Prince MukarramJah Mir Barkat Ali Khan, his son Mir Muhammad Azmat Ali Khan, popularly known as Azmat Jah will succeed as the IX head of the Asaf Jahi dynasty. The professional photographer and cinematographer, Azmat Jah attended school in London and received his degree from California. He reportedly collaborated with people like Steven Spielberg and Richard Attenborough. The last Nizam of Hyderabad Mukarram Jah passed away in Turkey and was laid to rest in the family’s vault in the forecourt of Mecca Masjid. He was named the successor by Mir Osman Ali Khan on June 14, 1954. In 1967, he was crowned at Chowmahalla Palace, and in 1971, he was referred to as the Prince of Hyderabad.
