A Hyderabad Runners’ Initiative OUTDOOR KIDS SUMMER CAMP 2023 concluded

Hyderabad, June 11, 2023: A Hyderabad Runners’ Initiative, an 8-week Hyderabad Runners Outdoor Kids Summer Camp 2023 concluded in the city at Dhulapally on Sunday. It concluded with a 4km run organized at Telangana State Forest Academy, Dulapally. Eight hundred kids in the age group of 6 to 12 years participated in this 8weeks summer camp held at 21 locations in Hyderabad. The training locations were public parks like KBR Park, and Botanical Garden and various large residential communities like PBEL City, Aparna and My Home Group residential complexes.

To promote physical literacy among needy kids this unique program was also extended to kids in two  Govt schools School —MGN School Filmnagar; NBT School Banjara Hills and Chotuu Ki Education (NGO) school in Miyapur and Jedimetla.

It was organised by Hyderabad Runners, a renowned Not-for-profit society dedicated to promoting running, active lifestyle, and well-being in the community, and is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of its Outdoor Kids Summer Camp Program. The program, designed to foster outdoor physical activity, learning, and fun, proved to be a resounding success, leaving a positive impact on the participating children.

The Outdoor Kids Summer Camp was held from 17th April 2023 to 11th June 2023. It was aimed to provide children with a unique opportunity to engage in outdoor activities, develop essential running skills, and cultivate a love for an active lifestyle. Under the guidance of experienced runners (volunteers, facilitators) and physical fitness trainers, the camp offered a range of activities that encouraged physical fitness, teamwork, group activities, and personal growth.

The camp was meticulously planned.  The kids were immersed in a variety of engaging activities, including outdoor games, sports, nature walks, team challenges, interactive workshops, and awareness campaigns with respect to civic sense toward a better tomorrow. The program focused not only on physical fitness but also on nurturing mental well-being, and instilling values of resilience, teamwork, and self-confidence.

Recognizing the importance of providing equal opportunities for all children, Hyderabad Runners have expanded its Summer Camp Program to include underprivileged kids who may not have access to such enriching experiences. Through this initiative, the organization aims to empower these children, inspire them to embrace an active lifestyle and create memorable summer moments.

A total of 150 underprivileged kids from Miyapur, Jeedimetla, Banjara Hills; Sheikpet govt/NGO-run schools participated in this program.  All kids were rewarded with T-shirts, Sports Shoes, and School Bags for attending the program.

We are delighted with the overwhelming response and the positive impact of our Outdoor Kids Summer Camp Program, said the program in charge from Hyderabad Runners. Our goal was to provide children with a memorable summer experience that combines physical activity with valuable life lessons. We are proud to have created an environment where children had the opportunity to grow, make new friends, and embrace an active lifestyle.

Hyderabad Runners remain committed to fostering a culture of health and fitness among children and the community at large. They continue to offer various initiatives and programs throughout the year, encouraging individuals of all ages to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle.
