A Pakistani national crossed the border to kill Nupur Sharma
Jaipur, July 20: According to police, a Pakistani national apprehended by the Border Security Force (BSF) from the Hindumal border in Rajasthan’s Srigangagar district confessed to crossing the International Border with the intent of killing Nupur Sharma for her remarks against Prophet Mohammad.
Rizwan Ashraf, a Pakistani national, crossed the border around 11 p.m. on July 16.
Many suspicious items were also discovered in his possession, including an 11-inch sharp knife. He was interrogated by a team from the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), and the Military Intelligence Agency.
Anand Sharma, Superintendent of Police in Sriganganagar, stated that the accused spilled the beans after being interrogated thoroughly.

At around 11 p.m. on July 16, the suspect was roaming around the Hindu Malkot border fencing adjacent to the Sriganganagar district, according to officials. The patrolling team became suspicious and questioned him, but he failed to respond properly. When he was thoroughly searched, two knives were discovered on him, one of which was 11 inches long. Aside from that, religious books, maps, clothing, and food items were discovered.
During questioning, the accused admitted to being a resident of Mandi Bahauddin in northern Pakistan.
He told the authorities that he crossed the border with the intent of murdering Nupur Sharma. He was on his way to Ajmer Dargah when the conspiracy was carried out. The accused was turned over to the local police by the BSF. The police took him to the local court, where he was placed on remand for five days.
