A Tearful Farewell To Dr. Manmohan Singh: Funeral Concluded At Nigam Bodh Ghat

Delhi/Hyderabad, Dec 28 (Maxim News): The funeral of former Indian Prime Minister, prominent economist, and highly educated Dr. Manmohan Singh has been completed. His last rites were performed at Nigam Bodh Ghat in Delhi on Saturday afternoon. He was given a final farewell in silence with military honors.

President Draupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Rajnath Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, senior Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Delhi LG VK Saxena, three service chiefs, foreign representatives and many other leaders participated in the funeral. They paid their last respects to his mortal remains and said a tearful farewell.

It is known that Dr. Manmohan Singh breathed his last at AIIMS in Delhi on Thursday night. He is currently 92 years old. The architect of economic reforms, he served as the Prime Minister of the UPA coalition between 2004-14, in 1991, Manmohan Singh initiated economic reforms in the country as the Finance Minister in the cabinet of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao.  (Maxim News)
