AAP MP Sanjay Singh Arrested In The Delhi Liquor Scam

Delhi/Hyderabad, Oct 4 (Maxim News): Aam Aadmi Party leader and MP Sanjay Singh was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today in the Delhi Liquor Policy scam.

The enforcement agency Enforcement directorate has conducted searches at the MP’s house since this morning in connection with the money laundering case. At the same time, the houses of many people who were close to him were also searched. Ed conducted searches for more than ten hours.  After that, the MP was arrested.  Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22 is under investigation for irregularities in money laundering. 

However, due to complaints of irregularities in the liquor policy case, the Lieutenant Governor recommended the CBI for investigation. However, the government later canceled the new liquor policy due to allegations of irregularities in its formulation and implementation.  

In August 2022, the CBI registered an FIR in the case against 15 accused for violating the provisions of the policy and committing procedural irregularities.  ED is investigating the money laundering case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in connection with the case registered by CBI.  it is known that ED and CBI are separately investigating the scandal in the Delhi government’s liquor policy.  (Maxim News)
