Abhishek Manu Singhvi filed nomination for Rajya Sabha from Telangana

Hyderabad, Aug 19 (Maxim News): Abhishek Manu Singhvi has filed his nomination as a Rajya Sabha candidate on behalf of the CongressChief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Sridhar Babu, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Congress MLAs, MLCs, MPs, party in charge of state affairs Deepadas Munshi participated in the program.

By-elections to 12 Rajya Sabha seats belonging to nine states will be held on September 3. In the recent general elections, Rajya Sabha members Piyush Goyal, Sarbananda Sonowal, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kamakhya Prasad, Vivek Thakur, Rajebhosle, Biplab Kumar Deb (BJ). Misa Bhatti (RJD), Dipendra Singh Hooda, and KC Venugopal (Congress) were elected to the Lok Sabha. All of them resigned from Rajya Sabha membership. Odisha BJP MP Mamata Mohanta has resigned from her post and the party. K. Keshav Rao, who was a member of the Rajya Sabha of BRS from Telangana also joined the Congress and resigned from the post. By-elections are being held for these 12 vacancies.  The deadline for filing nominations is the 21st of this month.

To this extent, the Congress leadership has finalized Abhishek Singhvi as their candidate from Telangana. He has been servicing the party for a long time. Since 2001, he has been working as the National Representative of Congress. He continued as a member of the Rajya Sabha for two terms (2006, 2018). In the Rajya Sabha elections held in March this year, he contested from Himachal Pradesh and lost to the BJP. Even though some local leaders tried for Rajya Sabha membership from Telangana.  Singhvi’s services in national politics are crucial for the Congres, but the party leaders explained that Singhvi has been finalized as a candidate.
