Hyderabad, August 5: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Court has permitted Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to travel abroad from August 17 to September 10 in connection with the 2015 cash for vote case, subject to specific conditions.
The court granted the permission after Revanth Reddy filed a petition seeking interim custody of his passports and relaxation of his bail conditions for the proposed overseas visit.
ACB Court Allows Revanth Reddy Foreign Travel With Conditions
The ACB Court directed the Chief Minister to execute a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh with one surety. It also asked him to submit details of his overseas addresses and contact numbers during the trip.
The court further instructed him to file an affidavit undertaking to return his passports by September 18 after completing the visit.
According to the petition, Revanth Reddy plans to visit the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany and China between August 17 and September 10.
The Chief Minister is the prime accused in the 2015 cash for vote case, which was registered when he was a Telugu Desam Party MLA. The other accused in the case include Bishop Harry Sebastian and R Uday Simha.
Earlier, the Telangana High Court directed Revanth Reddy to surrender his passport and cooperate with the investigating agency. It also instructed him to seek permission from the ACB Court whenever he intended to travel abroad.
The Chief Minister had last deposited his passports before the court on March 9, after which they were kept in the custody of the Regional Passport Officer in Secunderabad.
Revanth Reddy is currently in New Delhi and is expected to meet Union Ministers to discuss pending approvals, fund allocations and other issues concerning Telangana.
