Agitating Amaravathi Farmers Meet Union Minister Kishen Reddy

Hyderabad, Jan.5 (Maxim News): Farmers who had given their lands for building the Capital of newly formed Andhra Pradesh at Amaravathi, including some women, today called on the Union Minister of State, G Kishen Reddy, at Secunderabad. They submitted a representation to the Union Minister on the issue. Some of the affected women shed tears while explaining their plight to the Minister.

The farmers later said that Kishen Reddy had assured them that the Capital will remain at Amaravathi only and they need not be afraid about shifting it.

It may be mentioned that the farmers who have given their lands for the Capital were agitating for the last 18 days demanding that the Capital should be located at Amaravathi alone and not anywhere else. (Maxim News)
