Waliullah Sameer spoke to media representatives before conducting a massive roadshow in the Malakpet constituency on Thursday. Several senior Congress leaders, including Malakpet In-Charge Shaik Akbar, Charminar In-Charge Mujeebullah Shareef, Bahadurpura In-Charge P. Rajesh, Chandrayangutta In-Charge Boya Naresh, and Yakutpura In-Charge Ravi Raj, participated in the event.

In his address to the media, Waliullah Sameer welcomed the statement by AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, which exposed the secret alliance between AIMIM and the BJP. He agreed with Priyanka Gandhi’s assertion that AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi is directly working with the BJP. Sameer claimed that both MIM and BJP perpetuate a communal narrative to push their divisive agenda. Despite holding the Hyderabad seat since 1984, MIM has neither presented a progress report nor outlined a development plan for the future. According to Sameer, the BJP has consistently helped MIM in creating a climate of fear among Hyderabad voters. In return, MIM fields candidates in various constituencies across India, dividing votes to secure BJP’s victory.

Asaduddin Owaisi contests elections with the sole slogan, ‘Vote for me, or else BJP will win,’ and BJP aids him with provocative statements from its leaders,” Sameer said. He cited examples, such as BJP candidate Madhavi Lata making a gesture of firing an arrow at a mosque to provoke the Muslims. Further, BJP leader Navneet Rana made a controversial remark threatening the Owaisi brothers of consequences if police protection were removed for just 15 seconds. She was made to revive a 10-year-old comment made by MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, which is of no relevance today. These remarks, Sameer alleged, clearly indicate that neither MIM nor BJP is genuinely interested in the welfare of the people; they are more focused on winning elections through communal rhetoric.

Waliullah Sameer emphasized that he has been working in Hyderabad’s Old City since 2018, advocating for development and urging people to move away from the divisive narratives of MIM and BJP. “The youth of Hyderabad need jobs and higher education. People want better civic amenities, improved roads, quality electricity, and safe drinking water. They are no longer interested in the Hindu-Muslim rhetoric from MIM and BJP,” he said.

As a Congress candidate from the Hyderabad constituency, Sameer outlined a clear agenda for development. “I’ve promised to create jobs for 5,000 youths in the Old City and provide subsidized loans to 50,000 unemployed youths. If elected, within 100 days, I will ensure the sanctioning of a super-specialty hospital in the Old City,” he pledged.

The foundation for the Metro Rail project has been laid, and work on the Musi Riverfront Development project is underway. The Charminar Pedestrianization Project is progressing, and efforts are being made to transform the Charminar markets into a Special Economic Zone. He added that Congress will work towards obtaining UNESCO’s World Heritage City status for Hyderabad.

Sameer said that his mission is to see comprehensive development in Hyderabad and that he will pursue this goal regardless of the challenges. He urged the people to use their vote wisely. “The public will not benefit if MIM or BJP wins the elections, but their development and prosperity will be assured if Congress wins the Hyderabad seat,” he said.
