Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at Lal Darwaza near Maisamma Temple after AIMIM workers were attacked on Sunday night, February 15. The AIMIM workers attacked incident occurred when a group from Buldana district visited the area. Police later stepped in and brought the situation under control.
A group of workers from All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen, including Arif Pathan Khan from Buldana district, were travelling in a car with the party flag. When they reached Lal Darwaza, some persons stopped them. The group then abused the workers and thrashed them. They also damaged the party flag. A policeman was standing nearby during the incident.
AIMIM Workers Attacked After Reaching Lal Darwaza
The workers had come from Maharashtra to attend the 68th Anniversary celebrations at Darussalam. However, the attack disrupted their visit. Soon after the incident, AIMIM MLA Zulfeqar Ali reached the Moghalpura Police Station. He lodged a formal complaint along with other party workers.
Police booked a case following the complaint. Meanwhile, the Inspector and ACP Charminar assured party leaders that strict action would be taken. They said police would act against those responsible. Later, the DCP Charminar Zone, along with the Task Force and other officials, deployed heavy police forces in the area.
The MLA demanded strict action against the culprits. He also asked police to arrest them immediately. Therefore, authorities increased security to prevent further tension. The situation is now peaceful, police said.
