Air Ambulance Crashes In Jharkhand, Seven People Including Patient Die

Jharkhand/Hyderabad, Feb 24 (Maxim News): A tragic incident took place in Chhatra district of Jharkhand. An air ambulance carrying a patient from Ranchi to Delhi crashed in a forest area. Seven people, including the patient, died on the spot in the accident.

Sanjay Kumar (41), who was undergoing treatment at Devkamal Hospital in Ranchi, suffered 65 percent burns on his body. His family members arranged an air ambulance to provide him better treatment. The incident took place shortly after he took off from Ranchi airport at 7:11 pm on Monday.

A Beechcraft C90 (VT-AJV) aircraft of Redbird Airways crashed in a dense forest area near Simaria in Chhatra district. According to initial information, the aircraft lost control due to adverse weather conditions (thunderstorms, heavy rain) while in the air. The aircraft lost contact with Kolkata ATC at 7:34 pm. Rescue teams recovered the bodies at around 10:00 pm.

Details of the deceased..

There were two pilots, a patient, a doctor, a paramedic, and two relatives of the patient on board the plane at the time of the accident.

Order for investigation

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) have ordered a thorough investigation into the accident. Whether the cause was adverse weather conditions or a technical fault will be clarified once the black box is recovered. (Maxim News)
