Hyderabad, March.4 (Maxim News): Popular news reader of yesteryears, Madapati Satyavathi, passed away at her residence here in the early hours of Wednesday. She was 80.
Satyavathi earned herself a niche through her news reading on All India Radio. She was felicitated by the State government with the “Uttama Mahila” award in 2017. Her mortal remains were cremated in Trimulgherry burial ground this afternoon.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao expressed grief over the demise of former AIR newsreader and conveyed his condolences to the members of the bereaved family. The CM recalled the services rendered by her for four decades reading news with her mellifluous voice through which she secured a permanent place in the hearts of several lakhs of radio listeners.(Maxim News)
