Akbaruddin Owaisi: Telangana’s New Protem Speaker
Akbaruddin Owaisi | Hyderabad, Dec 8 (Maxim News): Telangana Assembly Session will start from Saturday. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy government hopes to hold this session for two days.
AIMIM senior legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi has been appointed as Protem Speaker. The Protem Speaker will be sworn in by the newly elected MLAs.
Akbaruddin will act as Protem speaker until the new speaker is elected.
Governor Tamiisai Soundararajan will administer oath to Akbaruddin as Protem Speaker at Raj Bhavan at 8.30 am on Sunday. After that he will take oath with the MLAs in the Legislative Assembly.
So far there has been a debate on who will be the Protem Speaker. According to seniority, former CM KCR is supposed to act as protem speaker.
He was elected to the Legislative assembly 8 times. But in the meantime, he slipped and got injured in the bathroom.
He is being treated in the hospital. Doctors have advised that rest is required for 8 weeks.
Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Danam Nagender, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi were among the senior MLAs, CM Revanth Reddy sarkar has picked 6th time MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi as protem speaker.
Uttam Kumar Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao are among the MLAs who have been elected six times in Congress. But both of them took oath as ministers. Finally Revanth Sarkar was learned towards Akbaruddin Owaisi. (Maxim News)
