All Parties JAC Plans Weavers “Chalo Delhi” Program
Hyderabad, June 18 (Maxim News): All Political Parties Joint Action Committee decided to organize weavers’ “Chalo Delhi” program from June 24 under leadership of Dasu Suresh. Different political parties, social welfare organizations participated in the meeting and spoke about the pathetic conditions of weavers.
Speaking on the occasion, TJS president Prof. Kodandaram said though the weavers were undergoing a lot of problems since many years, no government took any measures to alleviate their suffering. Telangana government should take care in the uplift of Handloom industry, he said and asked the JAC to do different activities till August 7.
National BC Commission leader R. Krishnaiah said the ruling party only making false promises but not solving their problems of weavers. The government was doing injustice to weavers by co-operating only with corporates by assigning textile parks and using weavers as laborers. He also alleged that while huge allocation was made in the budgets for weavers uplift, the government was spending a little amount. He demanded that the government cancel the license of corporates and give textile parks to weavers.
Chada Venkat Reddy from CPI and other party members also made some suggestions for welfare and action plan about Chalo Delhi by weavers. (Maxim News)
