All The Projects In The Telugu States Flooded, Gates Lifted

Hyderabad, Sept 4 (Maxim News): Due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, two Telugu States, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh flooded. Due to this, people faced severe problems, streams, ponds, and rivers overflowed and claimed tens of lives.

Heavy flood water entered the houses and the flood victims cried for food and fresh water. On the other hand, due to heavy rains and floods, the projects of two Telugu states were flooded. As the rains subsided, the rivers calmed down to some extent.

Nagarjuna Sagar flooded

According to the latest situation of the projects In the Nalgonda district, the Nagarjuna Sagar project continues to flood, by 10 a.m., the 10 gates of the project are being lifted by five feet and water is being released downstream. Project inflow is 1,88,549 cusecs while outflow is 1,16,535 cusecs. The full water level of the project is 590 feet, and now it has reached 586.20 feet. The full water storage capacity is 312.045 TMC, but now it has reached 301.35 TMC.

Srisailam Project flooded

The flow of flood water to the Nandyal Srisailam reservoir has receded. While the inflow is 1,43,199 cusecs, the gates of the project are lifted and 67,897 cusecs are being released downstream. The full water level of the project was 885 feet, but now it has reached 883.50 feet. On the other hand, while the full water storage capacity was 215.6070 TMC, it has now reached 208.7 TMC. Power generation continues in the right and left hydropower stations.

Manair Dam

Heavy flood flow is coming to the Lower Manair Dam of Karimnagar District. The authorities will likely lift the gates of Lower Manair Dam before noon today (Wednesday) and release the water downstream. While the full water storage capacity of the project is 24 TMC, currently the water has reached 17 TMC. With an inflow of 35,000 cusecs, the gates are likely to be lifted in the afternoon. The authorities have warned the people and farmers of the Maneru River coastal area to be alert.

Jurala Project

The flood of the Jurala project in the Mahbubnagar district has receded. While the full water level is 318.516 meters, the flood water has reached 317.810 meters. While the projected inflow is 1,35,000 cusecs, the total outflow is 94,893 cusecs, and 61,830 cusecs are being released downstream through the spillway by lifting 9 gates of the project. Another 32,339 cusecs are released through power generation. While the full water capacity of the project was 9,657 TMC, it has now reached 8,241 TMC.

Koil Sagar Project

Flood continues to flow in the Koil Sagar Project in Mahbubnagar district.  While the inflow is 2,800 cusecs, four project gates are being raised and 2,800 cusecs are being released downstream.  The full water capacity of the project is 2,270 tmcs.  Currently, it is 1,008 tmcs.

Godavari continues at 42.40 feet at Bhadradri Kothagudem Bhadrachalam. At present the inflow is 9,07,569 cusecs.  But the authorities will issue the first danger warning when Godavari crosses 43 feet. 

Kadem Project

22 thousand cusecs of flood water are coming to the Kadem project in the Nirmal district.  Officials are releasing 31 thousand cusecs of water downstream by lifting five project gates.  While the full water level of the project is 700 feet, the current level has reached 695.475 feet. 

Sripada Yellampalli Project

Flood water continues to flow into the Sripada Yellampalli project in Mancherial district.  While the projected inflow is 4.52 lakh cusecs, 32 gates are being lifted and 4.82 lakh cusecs of water is being released downstream.  While the full capacity is 20.175 tmc, the flood water has reached 14.4043 tmc.

Medigadda Barrage

8,85,620 cusecs of flood water are coming to the Medigadda barrage of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.  With this, the authorities are releasing the water downstream by lifting the barrage by 85 gates.

Nizam Sagar Project

The flow of flood water has increased to the Nizamsagar project in Kamareddy district.  The project has an inflow of 28,000 cusecs.  The full water level of the project was 1,405 feet, but now it has reached 1403.02 feet.  On the other hand, the full water capacity of the project is 17,802 tmc.  Currently, flood water has reached 15,006 tmc.

Singur Dam

Singur Bagazreddy Project in Pulkal Mandal of Sangareddy district has received heavy flood water.  Inflow is 43,028 cusecs while outflow is 401 cusecs.  The full water storage capacity of the project is 29.917 TMCs 

Prakasam Barrage

In Andhra Pradesh at Prakasam Barrage, the flow of flood water has been decreasing since yesterday (Tuesday) morning. At present, the barrage has an inflow of 4.56 lakh cusecs.  The people of the inundated villages of the Krishna River in the lower part of the barrage are now recovering from the effects of the flood.  On the other hand, the effect of flood is gradually decreasing in many villages of Guntur, Bapatla, NTR, and Krishna districts.  But recently, it is known that more than 11 lakh cusecs of flood water reached the Prakasam barrage at a record level.

Tungabhadra Reservoir

Tungabhadra Reservoir in Kurnool District continues to flood.  While the full water level was 1,633 feet, it has now reached 1,631.92 feet.  Inflow is 39,945 cusecs while outflow is 15,235 cusecs.  The total water capacity of the project is 105.788 TMCs and the current water storage capacity is 101.461 TMCs.
