“Am I a Traitor?” — Azharuddin Hits Back at Kishan Reddy’s Remarks
Hyderabad, Nov 1 (Maxim News): Former Indian cricket captain and Telangana Minister Mohammad Azharuddin has strongly reacted to the remarks made by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy against him.
Speaking to ABN–Andhra Jyothi on Saturday, Azharuddin questioned Kishan Reddy’s understanding of cricket, saying, “What does Kishan Reddy know about cricket? He doesn’t even know how to hold a bat.”
Azharuddin stated that he would not stoop to the level of responding to baseless criticism and reminded that he had already been given a clean chit by the court in all cases filed against him.
Expressing anger over the Union Minister’s remarks, Azharuddin said, “I am not a traitor. I am someone who brought glory to the nation on the world stage.” He alleged that the BJP was deliberately targeting him in connection with the Jubilee Hills constituency elections.
The Minister thanked the people for their support since assuming charge and reiterated that he would not engage with those who resort to personal attacks.
Meanwhile, it may be recalled that Union Minister Kishan Reddy had recently made strong comments against Azharuddin, accusing him of “betraying the nation” and “tarnishing India’s image.” Kishan Reddy also questioned the Congress party’s decision to appoint Azharuddin as a minister, terming it an “insult to democracy.”
The war of words between the two leaders has now become a major topic of discussion in political circles.
