Amer Ali Khan Named to State Media Accreditation Committee
Hyderabad, Feb. 13 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has constituted the State Media Accreditation Committee and named Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily as Member representing the Urdu Daily Newspaper category.
The government issued the orders through G.O.Rt.No.229 dated February 12, 2026.
The General Administration Information and Public Relations Department formed the State Media Accreditation Committee after examining proposals submitted by the Special Commissioner, Information and Public Relations.
The decision follows earlier Government Orders 252 and 103.
The State Media Accreditation Committee will process applications of eligible journalists under the Telangana Media Accreditation Rules, 2025. Therefore, it will oversee the issuance of Telangana accreditation cards at the State level.
State Media Accreditation Committee
The Chairman of the Media Academy of Telangana will head the State Media Accreditation Committee. Meanwhile, the Special Commissioner of the Information and Public Relations Department will serve as Co Chairman.
The committee includes representatives from journalist unions across Telangana. These include the Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ – H9), Telangana Union of Working Journalists (H-143), Telangana Working Journalists Federation (TUWJF Pending), and Telangana Journalists Association (TJA H-451).
In addition the government nominated Amer Ali Khan of Siasat as Member representing the Urdu Daily Newspaper category. In addition, A. Ranga Rao of Eenadu will represent Telugu big daily newspapers. N. Srinivas Reddy of Disha will represent medium dailies, and Ms. Baisa Ramadevi of Poddu will represent small dailies.
The committee also includes representatives from electronic media, photojournalists, video journalists, women journalists, and desk journalists.
Further, representatives from journalist unions in Telangana will serve as members.
Moreover, the Managing Director of TS RTO or his nominee, the Chief PRO of South Central Railway or nominee, and the Chief Information Engineer of the I and PR Department will be members.
The Director or Joint Director of Media Relations, Hyderabad, will act as Member Convener.
State Media Accreditation Committee | District Media Accreditation Committees
The government authorised the Special Commissioner, Information and Public Relations, to approve District Media Accreditation Committees proposed by District Collectors. Accordingly, district level committees will process applications under the State framework.
The order was issued in the name of the Governor of Telangana and signed by E.O. Special Secretary to Government Ch Priyanka. With the formation of the State Media Accreditation Committee, the government has put in place a structured mechanism for granting journalist accreditation across Telangana. (Maxim News)
