Hyderabad, Oct. 26: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend a Telangana BJP padayatra on November 2, state party president N. Ramchander Rao announced on Monday. The foot march aims to counter what the BJP describes as a “false narrative” by Congress against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The padayatra will be held a day after Congress’s planned rally against alleged “vote chori” at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on November 1.

Rao said the march would carry the theme “Loktantra Bachao – Arajakta Hatao,” meaning “Save Democracy – Remove Anarchy.” He accused Congress of attempting to create unrest in Telangana and across the country. These allegations were made by the BJP leader.
Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad, Rao confirmed Shah’s participation in the November 2 programme.

Rao also criticised Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge over his remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He alleged that Congress was unable to accept the rise of a tea seller to the country’s highest executive office.
The Telangana BJP president further claimed that Congress was desperate to return to power after losing elections since 2014.
Rao called on BJP workers to burn Congress effigies at district headquarters across Telangana on Monday to protest Kharge’s remarks.
