Tirumala, Nov.22 (Maxim News): The annual Karthika Vanabhojanam program held in the lush green woods at Paruveta Mandapam in Tirumala on Sunday with religious fervor.
Earlier the utsava murthies of Sri Malayappa along with Sridevi and Bhudevi were brought to the mandapam in a colourful procession and snapana tirumanjanam was performed amidst the rhythmic chanting of Purusha, Narayana, Sri, Bhu, and Neela Sooktams by Vedic pundits.
Later the artists of Annamacharya Project presented some melodious sankeertans followed by the instrumental rendition of some more kritis while Harikatha Parayanam on Garudadri Vaibhavam was an added attraction to the event.
Speaking on this occasion, the Additional EO AV Dharma Reddy said, usually tens of thousands of devotees converge in the green woods for this most important community dining program. But due to Covid restrictions, we have limited this number to just a couple of hundreds. The entire event went off in a colourful way.
After the Pooja and Nivedana to deities, the community dining program, Karthika Vanabhojanam was organised and the devotees cherished the Annaprasadam under the Amla trees at Paruveta Mandapam. Later the deities were taken back to the temple.
TTD has cancelled Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjita Brahmotsavam, and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva on Sunday following this fete. (Maxim News)
