Another Step In Second Phase Of Hyderabad Metro Project

Hyderabad, June 22 (Maxim News): Another step has been taken in the second phase of the Hyderabad metro Rail Project.  The Telangana government has submitted the proposal for Metro Rail Phase 2 (B) to the Central government.

Along with the proposal for Metro Rail Phase 2 (B), all the necessary documents and DPRs were submitted to the Central Government.  A week ago, the Telangana government gave administrative approvals to the second phase of the Metro project.

Metro Phase II (B) has 86.1 km.  The construction of the second phase of the metro will be done at a cost of Rs. 19,579 crore.  The construction of the second phase of the metro will be done in a joint partnership between the Telangana government and the Central government.  This phase 2 (B) project, approved by the state cabinet, has 3 corridors.  It includes RGIA to Bharat Future City (39.6 km, Rs. 7,168 crores, JBS to Medchal (24.5 km, Rs. 6,946 crore) and JBS to Shamirpet (22 km, Rs. 5,465 crore).  This Phase 2 (B) project, which covers a total length of 86.1 km, will have a total investment of Rs. 19,579 crore.

Like the previously submitted pleas 2(A) project of five corridors (76.4 km), this phase 2 (B) project is also proposed to be developed as a joint venture project by the Central and State Governments.  As per the Central Government JV project norms, the cost of phase 2(B) is Rs. 19,579 crore.  The Telangana Government’s share is Rs. 5,874 crore (30 per cent), The Government of India’s share is Rs. 3,524 crore (18 per cent), the loan from International Financial Institutions is Rs. 9,398 crore (48 per cent) and the small PPP component is Rs. 783 crore (4 per cent).
