Reliance Infrastructure is currently betting big on the Indian defence sector.  In this context, it is planning to do a business of Rs. 5 thousand crores through the Indian military aircraft upgrade program. With this, it has been revealed that Reliance Infrastructure will be the first company to undertake such a project in the country. Only original equipment manufacturing companies undertake such things.

According to the available information, the company has already completed the upgrade of 55 Dornier-228 aircraft under a Rs. 350 crore deal with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and US-based Geness.  Originally, the order was for 37 aircraft, but due to successful deliveries, the company has received orders for another 18 units.  The upgraded Dornier fleet is now serving the Indian Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard.

It seems that the success of the current projects undertaken by the company may bring more success in the coming period.  It is noteworthy that the company is also involved in the logistics of Rafale fighter jets.  The company is currently also working on new generation technologies.  (Maxim News)
